Clifton Collins Jr. is a German-Mexican actor better known for his roles in One Eight Seven, Babel, Traffic and J.J. Abrams' 2009 film, Star Trek as Ayel. He portrays Tendo Choi in Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim.


Clifton Collins Jr.'s breakthrough role was that of a gang thug Cesar Sanchez in the 1997 film One Eight Seven. In 2000 he also played another memorable role as a gay hitman working for Mexican drug cartels in the movie Traffic. He has also had roles in the movies, Capote, Confessions of an American Girl, The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit, and most memorably, the second in command to the Romulan Captain Nero in the 2009 movie, Star Trek.

He has had recurring roles in the FX series The Shield, NBC's The Event, and has appeared in other series such as NYPD Blue, CSI: Miami, Ressurection Blvd., The Twilight Zone (2002 reboot), Alias,Thief, Masters of Science Fiction, Fear itself, Southland, and recently, ABC's cancelled series, Red Widow. He provided the voice of the character Cesar Vialpando in the video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
