"...And we're losing Jaegers faster than we can build them."
—L. Taylor to Stacker Pentecost[2]

L. Taylor[2][3] is an American representative to the United Nations. He was also an advocate of shutting down the Jaeger Program in favor of funding the Anti-Kaiju Wall.

Biography

United Nations

According to the data on his screen, Taylor presumably represents the cities of Anchorage, Los Angeles, Honolulu, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle.

2025

Five years after Knifehead's battle with Gipsy Danger, Taylor, L. Cole and several other members of the United Nations hold a virtual meeting with Stacker Pentecost, Tendo Choi and Herc Hansen at the Anchorage Shatterdome. While conversing with Pentecost, Taylor claims that the evolution of the Kaiju has made the Jaeger Program an infeasible option of defense.

When Pentecost argues for a final chance to assault the Breach when everything they have, Taylor refuses to listen and announces that what remains of the Jaeger Program will be relocated to the Shatterdome in Hong Kong. He also reveals that the United Nations only plans on funding the Pan Pacific Defense Corps for the next eight months; once that time is up, then the organization is on its own.

Several days after the Kaiju Mutavore easily destroys the coastal wall in Sydney, Taylor is interviewed by an English news station. He reports that the United Nations has moved millions of civilians and supplies away from the coastlines to the safe zones three hundred miles inland. When a reporter claims that only the "rich and powerful" are being relocated and demands to know what will happen to everybody else, Taylor refuses to answer the question and continues to insist that the Wall of Life is still humanity's best option against the Kaiju.[3]
