Yeah, looks like the end of the line for the dear old WotW, which is a damn shame, but oh well.
I'm not brilliant when it comes to all this voice-comm stuff, Skype's served me well enough, but I'll see about getting it set up tomorrow when I've got some free time, today's been rather busy (and I've been enjoying BattleTech, best 35 quid I spent since XCOM-2).
With any luck, I shall speak to you on Discord tomorrow.

Well, a conflict like that (WW1 in fast forward) would necessitate much larger machines built purely for brute force, rather than the smaller and more versatile tanks we use today.
On another note, have you ever read "The Lost Fleet" series by Jack Campbell?
I've heard of it, but not read it.
A lot more realistic than Star Trek or Star Wars
Realistic sci-fi tends not to be my thing, I prefer over-the-top ridiculousness with no regard for physics.
and some very detailed and complex 3D battles.
Sounds interesting, I may look into it.
Well, in terms of over-the-top ridculousness, how about a massive sphere of energy attached to hundreds of tethers that could potentially wipe out a star system, and potentially the ones next to it, that is used as a transport network, an alien species that regards everything as a predator and builds missiles so large they have to be piloted, and massive superbattleships that can drive people insane if in groups less than 4? How's that?

Technically-minded person in me: Do these people even computers?
Rest of me: That's absurd and awesome!
and massive superbattleships that can drive people insane if in groups less than 4?
How does that even work?
Well, it works similar to abandoned space stations. There's no atmosphere to degrade the inside of the station, so there's no telling how long they've been abandoned, which gives it an air of "creepy beyond haunted houses". In terms of how it works, it's suggested that harmonic frequency's that Humans can't hear but affects them in some way.
And as for the missiles, did I mention the alien race built space fortresses that can launch around 900 of these missiles at once.
Just had a look, this gives me new energy to continue the story! if only I had uploaded the next part I created on word and I don't even know wheater I saved it.
But a summary, well. I guess that since you did upload it, you deserve something:
While above ground the spy planes hover, while on the surface politicians engage in a battle of wits, the sea shakes with the force of a small volcano, as giant robots of the US battle against on coming waves of USSR automatons, intenr on causing the first strike. It's up to a select few of men and women to halt nuclear armageddon. As they stand on the brink of destruction, the few that survive must face hell's demoms come to life.
This story will take you into the Atlantic, over downtown San Francisco, past the Kremlin, and even to Dublin...
The chracters vary. Some will be likeable, some unlikable, some may have a short temper, others a laid back attitude, and one may drink herbal tea...
Well, since you went to the hassle of doing this, I'm glad to present you with a summary, even if I made it out of thin air.
Heh... got a 360 character-sized one? :/ (really good summary though) :D
I'm sure if we explain the situation to Lily whats happening then you could post further chapters on my wall, then I copy/paste it into a document and delete the post before we can get criminilised via fanon :D
well, that's fine, but I created it to show what it might be like to have an alternative universe where the Jaegers are created prior to the kaiju strikes, and the idea poped into my head "cold war, why not?" it's nice to know not everyone likes it.
