Official Summary

"Following the best-selling graphic novel Tales From Year Zero, Legendary takes you back to the front lines of a larger-than-life battleground with Pacific Rim: Tales From The Drift. With Itak about to deliver the fatal blow to Tacit Ronin, Duc and Kaori’s lives hang in the balance. In the recesses of their memories, the couple revisits their initial unsuccessful drifts. In the war to stop the apocalypse, will this battle be a victory or a sacrifice for mankind?"
—Legendary Comics[1]

Plot Summary

After falling unconscious in the previous issue, Duc and Kaori Jessup awaken to find the Kaiju Itak continuing it's assault on the Jeager. Attempting to counter the blows, they fall into the drift and begin to relive their memories; from their first encounter to their first drift.
As Kaori reawakens, she hears LOCCENT ordering her and Duc to eject as the Jaeger's systems become critical. Disobying orders, she and Duc instead attack the Kaiju from behind, cutting it in half. As Kaori celebrates their victory, she turns and sees Duc has once more fallen unconscious.
