Shigeru Chiba (三宅 貴洋 Miyake Takahiro?), born Masaharu Maeda (前田 正治 Maeda Masaharu?), is a Japanese voice actor and director.[2] He provided the voice of Tendo Choi in the Japanese dub[3] of Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim.

Biography

Chiba's career began as a stunt actor. He appeared in films such as Nikkatsu Roman Porno series, Mamoru Oshii films Cerberus, Hell's Watchdog and Talking Head. He plays both serious and gag roles. He got the leading role in Highschool! Kimen-gumi, landing the role of Rei Ichidō. He has also worked as a sound effects director and music director. He is employed by the talent management firm 81 Produce.

Chiba has provided his voice to a number animated series, such as Fist of the North Star, Urusei Yatsura), YuYu Hakusho, the Dragon Ball series as, Pilaf, Raditz[4] and and Garlic Jr..

Chiba has also starred in over four Super Sentai series, Gosei Sentai Dairanger, Ninja Sentai Kakuranger, Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger and Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger.
