On page 261 of the novelization, when Gipsy is falling from lower space after killing Otachi, Pentecost gives them informations how to survive the impact. Before that, he says "I´ve done this before!". What does he mean? Newt´s reaction to Otachi´s ability to fly (that´s in the novelization too) sugests that there was no other flying Kaiju before. So how could a Jaeger get at such an altitude? It only would be possible with a rocket, but why would they rocket a Jaeger into space and then drop it?
4.newt possibly never enlisted yet and was possibly still in school on one of coyotes kills
and for the altitude thing a jaeger simply can't do it so a kaiju would grab it the same way otachi did to gipsy execept coyote could use its mortars instead and the reason why to fly into space well for starts theres no oxygen in space which will kill the pilots and if you drop the jaeger there is small chance to survive a fall that high
I don't like sharing this particular story because I always get chuckled at, but...
We got thrown by a Kaiju. It curled up pulled the hardest uppercut I've ever seen. If we hadn't of tensed in time, the thing's fist would have gone straight through the Conn-Pod. As it was, the angle of the attack sent us straight up in the air... and then we found out it could sort of fly and kicked us a little higher.
It's a not very well known fact that at least two of the Martial Arts styles we teach the pilot-hopefuls these days were derived from that Kaiju.
If you want to know how we managed to slow our descent in Coyote Tango, I'd recommend watching that new A-Team movie, where the team tries to fly a tank using the turret to control their free-fall.
The first flying kaiju was named "SCIZZURE" i think it looked like a giant lizard fused with a rabbit(due to its ears) and it had web-like wings which expanded everytime it moved its arms and one last thing .....
Marshall....you got upper-cutted into outer-space? hilarious i could just imagine it
