Ramin Djawadi[3] is a German-born film and television composer and producer. He best known for his work on Prison Break, Iron Man and the HBO series Game of Thrones. He is the composer for Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim[4].

Biography[]

After Djawadi graduated summa cum laude from Berklee College of Music in 1998, he garnered the attention of Hans Zimmer, who recruited him to Remote Control Productions. Djawadi later relocated to Los Angeles and worked as an assistant to Klaus Badelt. During his early career Djawadi often collaborated with Zimmer and Badelt; providing additional music and production on scores like Beat the Drum, Thunderbirds and Batman Begins. In 2004 he composed the score for Blade Trinity. He received critical acclaim for his work on the FOX series Prison Break; the series theme, "Main Titles", was nominated for an Emmy Award. In 2008 he collaborated with Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello to compose the score for Marvel Studios's Iron Man; the soundtrack was produced by Zimmer. He would not collaborate with Morello again until Pacific Rim.[5] In 2010 Djawadi was hired to compose the score for the series Games of Thrones on HBO.
